Shenzhen
Shenzhen - Silicon Valley of the Far East
China is the land of mega-cities. Among them is the former fishing village of Shenzhen. In 1980, it was inhabited by only a few thousand people, but today, with about 17 million residents, it is the fourth-largest city in China. Shenzhen is a planned city characterized by generously laid-out streets and many public parks. It is the most important location for China's IT industry and, alongside Shanghai, the most important financial center in China. Shenzhen's climate is subtropical, with a humid and hot summer and a mild winter. Compared to other major cities in China, the smog levels are relatively low.
